The Beautiful Babes Of The BRITS 2023 Red Carpet & Their Do’s

This years Brit awards were full of amazing outfits, outstanding performances, a little bit of controversy… AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, BEAUTIFUL HAIR! Read on to see which looks stood out the most to us on the BRITS 2023 red carpet.

Style Perfection

One of the hair trends we saw at the 2023 Brit Awards was “Style Perfection”. Maya Jama, co-host for this year’s awards, stunned everyone with her red-carpet look. Fresh from Love Island there was not a single hair out of place, not even a whisp of hair!

This slicked-back look was achieved by layering the hair with products that repel moisture and frizz whilst blowdrying, we love ELEVEN Australia Frizz Control Shaping Cream and if you would like to make your blow-dry sleeker and smoother add a couple of pumps of Smooth and Shine Anti-Frizz Serum with the frizz control shaping cream. The duo will smooth the frizziest of hair and create the perfect smooth, sleek base for this look. Once dry the hair was shaped using a curling tong, the ELEVEN Australia Curling Tong has a 32mm barrel which is the perfect size to shape the hair into this red carpet-worthy hair-up. To create the mirror shine our go-to product is ELEVEN Australia Make Me Shine Spray Gloss to get the red carpet glamourous effect.

Natural Texture

It would be impossible for us not to mention Harry Styles, not only did he sweep the board winning all 4 of his categories. Harry’s fearlessness towards fashion has always inspired and influenced people, we adore this 1970s-inspired Nina Ricci suit with flared trousers and a tuxedo-style jacket. Having natural movement in the hair can sometimes be a curse rather than a blessing but Harry manages to keep any frizz at bay and gives the appearance of soft glossy texture.

Here is our guide to controlling and enhancing your natural texture.

It’s all about moisture content, the more moisture the hair has the less it will become frizzy. We recommend ELEVEN Australia Hydrate My Hair Shampoo and Conditioner as your starting point and applying Miracle Treatment to lock in the moisture and stop any frizz. Our favourite product for natural curls and texture is ELEVEN Australia Keep My Curl Defining Cream, this superhero product packs moisture into the hair with Avocado Oil. Apply and squeeze the curls into shape. Our top tip is not to touch the curls whilst they are drying. Only touch them when the hair is completely dry. If you feel you want to add volume in to the hair, layer on I Want Body Volume Foam.

Undone Texture

We love Ellie Goulding’s transition to brunette, it has been reported that she has tried all the shades of blonde and made the bold move to the darker side at the end of 2022. It was a little disappointing that Ellie Gouldings Brit Awards moment was overshadowed by Tom Grennan who asked if they were her real boobs but all we were obsessed with was her undone texture.

Creating undone texture is one of the hardest looks to perfect as it can be too easy to try too hard and make it look over-styled. We also love the deep side parting which can dramatically change your look and is very much trending at the moment.

Here are our tips to recreate the look

This type of texture needs to look light and airy, we always start with ELEVEN Australia Miracle Spray and love ELEVEN Australia Sea Salt Spray to blow-dry with, if you have soft or fine hair it’s perfect to reapply and build up to create soft gritty texture. Once you have created the perfect base we recommend using the ELEVEN Australia Curling Tong to add soft bends. The trick to this look is not to wrap the full length of the hair around the tong, just wrap it a couple of times then release and wrap again further down the hair. Take varying size sections of hair, the larger the better, this will create an undone texture and wrap away from the face to add fullness. Finish with Dry Finish Wax Spray for definition and separation.
